The Wanderluxxe squad simply took Sundance up a notch.
Tucked away in a cozy, plush luxury estate in Deer Valley that doubled as the Apex Social House, the team’s party digs for the first weekend of the fest were exactly the escape we were looking for from the wintry mix on Main Street.
We kicked things off at the luxury estate for an après ski happy hour Friday, where we mingled with boss babe Wanderluxxe founders Lola Woods and Marti Hines, and other industry peeps. Amid picturesque views of the snow-covered scene outside, we sipped cocktails at the two open Casamigos bars – a spiked Peet’s Coffee coffee and hot chocolate bar and a signature margarita station.Following happy hour, guests packed the house again for the Mandy premiere party, where the film’s stars like Nicolas Cage enjoyed the scene with his wife Alice Kim by his side, and Elijah Wood hit the DJ booth to spin a set on vinyl records.
Post-party, those who recovered in time headed back to the house Saturday morning to work off the night at morning fitness classes led by Soul Cycle trainer and East Side Dance Co. owner Trammell Logan. Then, it was time for the turn up again as the day wore on, with the après ski happy hour kicking back up again before the Nancy premiere party.
Out of all the events at the house though (and every single one was awesome), the main epic event was the Common and Friends bash presented by Dropbox Sunday evening. During the intimate house party, guests packed the digs to catch a glimpse of John Legend and the iconic rapper performing together in the living room, before Common kept the bash going with a 2-hour performance of his fave hits, new songs, and freestyles.
The fete also came complete with open bars, good music all night thanks to DJ Dummy, and Postmates dropping off 250 pieces of KFC chicken and gallons of mac n’ cheese at midnight. It’s safe to call that one epic Sundance night.
When we think of winter getaways, we want it to look like the Wanderluxxe house every time. Fingers crossed that the duo and Apex Social Club brings back their luxe house for Sundance ‘19.
