Awards season is known for its glitzy bashes packed with A-list celebs and plenty of glam, but it’s rare that an event mesh the world of sports and film/TV at the top of the season, in the midst of Golden Globes week.

Those two worlds collided Saturday at the 7th annual Gold Meets Golden at the Virginia Robinson Gardens And Estate in Beverly Hills, Calif., as Hollywood wished good luck to athletes competing in the Olympic and paralympic Games 2020.

Cynthia Erivo, who stunned in a white gown, kicked off the day as she belted out John Lennon’s Imagine, followed by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who introduced X-Factor’s Emmanuel Kelly, who honored the Paralympic community with his new song “Never Alone.”

Live entertainment wasn’t all that guests were treated to at Gold meets Golden. There was an endless amount of pop-ups and goodies on the grounds. Guests a drifted through a Coca-Cola Summer Tokyo-style Bodega featuring sports and Hollywood memorabilia, cherry blossom trees, a Good Luck Team USA Wall, and the new Dasani Purefill water dispenser which kept them hydrated on a warmer than usual LA winter day.

Sitting right on the grass was a bright gold-dipped M8 series BMW created by BMW Beverly Hills, which also treated guests to a winter themed lounge. The dealership also surprised the BMW-sponsored Team USA Sochi 2014 Olympic Bobsled team with upgraded silver medals, which were presented by Rocketman star Taron Egerton and Sistine Stallone.

To top things off, models strutted down the runway during global shopping marketplace Fashwire’s debut fashion show at the event. Hair icon Paul Mitchell styled the models locks and makeup artists enhanced their skin with Ghost Democracy products.

As if that weren’t enough to start the weekend – and year – off with a bang, each attendee at the event took home a bag full of goodies worth over $10,000.
