5 Reasons Why You Can’t Miss KAABOO Music Fest

Live music, grub served up by renowned chefs, and plenty of entertainment? Hello KAABOO. We’re thrilled you’ve rolled back around again.

If this is your first time hearing about the three-day music and culinary experience, here’s the gist: It’s a festival curated by music lovers for music lovers that is packed with live music performances, chefs whipping up killer food in a showdown of sorts, and comedy shows all weekend long.

KAABOO kicks off September 14 – 16th in Del Mar, Calif. (right outside of San Diego). So, why should you go? Here are our five reasons why.

1. Hello…It’s Right on the Beach: The location alone makes it a fun weekend getaway for Californians – or anyone – looking for a unique way to wrap up summer. Del Mar is typically known as one of the more quiet beach towns in Southern California, so if you like more of a lively scene, this a good time to go to experience Del Mar – and also have plenty to do while you’re there.

2. KAABOO’s PALATE Experience is a Foodie’s Dream: As we mentioned, a huge part of this music fest is the food – and you can get just about everything you’ve ever wanted at it. KAABOO goers can sample local and regional delicacies from Wicked Maine Lobster, Dirty Cookie, and the Oceanaire Seafood Room, feast at featured countertop spots like STK and Mariposa Ice Cream, and even sift through art at an indoor contemporary art fair while they grub at even more food stations, thanks to the PALATE/ARtwork experience. As a bonus, the PALATE experience also includes a sips program that features wines, craft beers, and cocktails from HARKEN, Sapporo, and more.

3. There’s a Chef Showdown: Who needs Top Chef binge watching when you can watch some of the top chefs in the country go head to head live? Richard Blais, Michelle Bernstein, and Marc Forgione are just a few of the chefs who will hit the PALATE stage to whip up new recipes and some of the famous bites they’re known for. “It’s one of my favorite shows of the year because of the crazy positive energy,” Blaise, a KAABOO vet, told us about why he keeps returning to the fest. “There are always tons of fun fans and it’s literally in my backyard!”

4. The Music & The Laughs: Katy Perry is set to hit the stage, along with Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Big Boy, Imagine Dragons, and many more. KAABOO will also have Humor Me, an indoor, air-conditioned comedy club, where Craig Ferguson, Judd Apatow & Friends, Craig Robinson, Whitney Cummings and more will bring on the laughs.

5. The Pool Party: MGM is bringing a satellite version of its Wet Republic pool party to KAABOO with BASK, a “Vegas-style” pool club where guests can watch the performances on the Grandview Stage from the pool with a cocktail in hand. BASK will also feature games, premium cabanas, DJ sets, and dedicated bars. For those who want to continue the party into the night, there’s Club Elevate, the on-site nightclub (Must be 18 +).
