Inside the Star-Studded Vegas Grand Opening of Apex Social Club

“When you have a view like this, you can’t help but feel like you’re on top of the world! We’re celebrating the opening of Apex Social Club!” – Rick Ross

After months of anticipation, Apex Social Club opened its doors at the Palms Casino and Resort Friday night, with In Darkness star Emily Ratajakowski hosting the event in a curve-hugging nude Nookie dress and Nas hitting the outdoor patio of the 8,000 square foot open-air social club to perform.

“I love Vegas. I’ve been coming here for a long time, but I feel like there’s something cool about an old school spot that’s been re-done, that’s a little bit off the strip,” she said before heading in.

Located on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort, the Clique Hospitality nightlife venue is the brainchild of nightlife owners Andi Masi, Ryan Labbe and Jason “Jroc” Craig, and is one of the most unique nightlife experiences we’ve had in Vegas, particularly when it comes to taking in performances. As Nas grabbed the mic near the end of the night, guests were able to crowd around him and get an up-close view of his performance with panoramic views of the Vegas skyline in the background.

Just like the rest of us, it appeared Nas has a little too much fun during the night. When he hit the stage, he couldn’t get through one song (and appeared to have some trouble remembering the lyrics). Still, fans sang along to the instrumentals nevertheless as his hits poured through the speakers, and he threw up his cocktail for a toast.

“Don’t be miserable…be happy,” he said with a smile. “I’m just having fun ya’ll!” Us too.

Following Nas’s performance, The Roots drummer QuestLove served as the DJ Saturday night, keeping the crowd on their feet with his hip hop set. Then, Sunday night, Ricky Rozay stepped up in the center of the patio, and got clubbers re-energized at 2 a.m. as he performed his hits like “Hustlin’”, “Diced Pinapples”, and “Trap Trap Trap” with a glass of rose in his hand.

As the night dwindled down, we sipped crafted cocktails at the graphite and sapphire bar, and lounged in the covered lounge surrounded by glass-encased art sculptures. Every night we partied there, we lived.

Don’t miss Apex Social Club the next time you’re in Vegas. We’ll definitely be back.
